School Security Officer Course

 

About the Course

This course. a 24 hour class, is designed to meet the requirement of Senate Bill 1626 which mandates California Schools to provide training that will enable school security officers to deal with the increasingly diverse and dangerous situations they encounter.

 

An 8.0 TABE reading score is required to enroll in this class. Students must meet other LBUSD requirements, including a security check with no felony convictions for employment consideration with LBUSD.

  • Search and Seizures

  • Dynamics of Student behavior

  • Community Oriented Policing

  • Mediation/ Conflict Resolution

  • Crimes Against Persons, Property

  • Disasters and Emergencies and Crisis

  • Structure and Organization of Schools

  • Practical Exercises in Conflict Mediation

  • Responsibility in Learning Environment

  • Disturbances, Arrests, Discipline, Trespassing

  • Intra/Inter Relations with Constituent Groups

  • Campus/ Community Oriented Problem Solving

  • Tactical Awareness in the Educational Environment

  • Role and Responsibility of School Security Personnel

  • Socio-Economic/Racial/cultural components of Gangs
