High School Information 
I. HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRATION INFORMATION 
High school applications for the 9th grade (2007-2008 school year) will be distributed and collected by your student's history teacher in December. Please ask your student for the name of his or her history teacher, and have your student give you the application as soon as possible for your review and signature. The application is a two-sided, white form. Your request to transfer schools, and apply for the various learning communities and special programs is now handled by this single application. All applications will be pre-printed with the following information: Your student's name, address, phone number, parent or guardian's name, test score information, and grade point average from grades 6 and 7. Also, your high school of residence will be on the application. If any of the personal information needs to be updated, please cross it out and add the correct information onto the application. We will update our records upon receipt of the application. This year’s “High School Choice Faire” will be held Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Poly High School from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. This event will provide you with information on all LBUSD High Schools. It is very important that you attend this event to learn all about each high schools individual programs. Please plan on arriving at 9:00 a.m. as there are many sessions you may want to attend. All Applications are due to the student's history teacher by December 21, 2006. We encourage all parents to attend one or more of the following events to assist in the high school decision making process. Even if you do not have an 8th grader, these meetings are very informative and can help you in the decision process a year or two from now. • November 9 - Poly PACE Information Night at Hughes’ auditorium – 6:30 p.m. -.8:00 p.m. • November 30 - High School Application Information Meeting – Hughes auditorium 10:00 a.m. in English 4:00 p.m. in Spanish 6:00 p.m. in English • December 2 - "High School Choice Fair" at Poly High School 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. • December 4 - Parent night at Poly High School at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium • December 5 - Parent night at Jordan with CAMS at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium • December 6 - Parent night at Lakewood at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium • December 7 - Parent night at Millikan at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium • December 11 - Parent night at Cabrillo at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium • December 12 - Parent night at Renaissance at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium • December 14 - Parent night at Wilson at 6:30 p.m. in auditorium • December 21 - All Applications due to student's history teacher • February 2 – Letters of acceptance mailed home to special program applicants from LBUSD Central Office • February 8 - Confirmation of "Intent to Attend" form due to Hughes’ main office from students admitted to special programs (i.e. PACE, CIC, Quest, etc.) • March or April 2007 - High school counselors visit Hughes to program 9th grade classes. Help your child make an informed decision by attending these meetings!
