About our School Student Achievement Improvement in student achievement and school operations are evident and initiated by teachers' and students' understanding of individual learning linked to appropriate and effective instructional and assessment strategies. Students at Alvarado will become techno-literate and know technology's place in the world through hands-on experience. Educators Staff Development is based on the needs of the students and staff. Teachers continue to further their teaching skills through college classes and professional development opportunities at the school, district and outside conferences. Staff members, Mentor teachers and consultants are utilized to provide in-service training to enhance effective teaching and student learning. Teachers receive continuous training in areas of literacy and math. Support Services Counseling and support service include classroom lessons, individual and group counseling, testing and evaluation, and parent education. These services and a highly qualified staff provide support to keep problems from interfering with student achievement. Support staff consists of two intensive skills specialists for grades three, four, and five, library services, nursing services(two days) and counseling services (three days). |
