Initiative Target Goals

The success of the Academic and Career Success Initiative will be measured by the district’s performance and progress against the following metrics that measure proficiency in core content areas, college eligibility, and college & career readiness:

  1. 5th and 8th Grade English Language Arts Proficiency
  2. 5th and 8th Grade Mathematics Proficiency
  3. 8th Grade Algebra I Enrollment and Proficiency
  4. California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) Pass Rate in 10th Grade
  5. High School Graduation Rate
  6. “A-G” College Entrance Requirements Completion Rate
  7. SAT and ACT College Entrance Exam Performance
  8. AVID Participation in Middle and High Schools
  9. Advanced Placement (AP) Course Enrollment and Passage
  10. College Early Assessment Program (EAP) Participation and Performance
  11. College Admissions

Targets for the year 2013 have been established for most metrics, while some targets will be established after gathering additional information and data trends. Progress against these established metrics will be reported annually.
