Welcome to National School Counseling Week, which continues through Feb. 7. This week is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and highlights the unique contributions of school counselors within U.S. school systems and the tremendous impact they can have in helping students to succeed.
Counselors encourage students to use academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and interpersonal skills, and plan for college and careers. I would like to personally thank our counselors for actively engaging in helping students to examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents, and for working in partnership with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world.
I encourage everyone to take a moment this week to thank your local school counselors, who do so much to help every student, every day. Follow #NSCW2020 on social media, and learn more about National School Counseling Week, at schoolcounselor.org.
