The Mayor’s Fund for Education will recognize Long Beach Unified School District Deputy Superintendent Jill Baker as an Education Champion Honoree during a reception celebrating the group’s third anniversary from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Keesal, Young and Logan Offices of the Union Bank Building, 400 Oceangate, 14th Floor, Long Beach.
The Mayor’s Fund is a nonprofit organization working with Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia to support local education partners and programs. Festivities will include appetizers and an art showcase from PTA Reflections. The emcee will be Emmy Award winner Kim Estes.
Other honorees will include the Children Today organization, which will receive the Civic Steward Award, and Mark Taylor, who will be recognized as a Legacy Award Honoree.
Tickets are $25 through Jan. 31, then $30 through Feb. 21 or $40 at the door.
