The nonprofit Sharefest organization is partnering with the Long Beach Unified School District’s Buffum Total Learning Center to spruce up the campus with the help of dozens of volunteers.
The campus beautification is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at Buffum TLC, 2350 Ximeno Ave. in Long Beach. Buffum TLC provides preschool for students with special needs.
Projects will include painting a mural, planting a garden, and painting a track for toy cars on the playground. The school anticipates more than 100 volunteers from the community. Many of the supplies and volunteers will be provided by Kaiser Permanente.
Volunteers can still sign up online at http://workday.sharefestinc.org/projects/233.
The Sharefest Workday is a community-building and service day that mobilizes volunteers of all ages to work on community projects designed to meet tangible needs. Sharefest is the organization that bridges the gap between individuals, companies, and organizations that want to provide supplies and volunteers to the schools and churches who need support to beautify and refurbish their property.
