Which local high school had more of its June 2000 graduates admitted to Cal Tech and UCLA than any other high school in the U.S.? Poly High School has done it again. Of the more than 22,000 U.S. high schools, only about one school in 100 is fortunate enough to have a student admitted to Cal Tech. Very rarely does a high school--perhaps one in 10,000--have two students in the same graduating class admitted to Cal Tech. But this year Poly has three members of the Class of 2000 admitted to Cal Tech--more than any other high school in the U.S.
In 1997, Poly ranked number one in admissions to UCLA with 50 graduates attending the prestigious university. In 2000, with 60 graduates enrolled at UCLA, Poly is believed again to have the largest number admitted from any high school in the U.S.
